Focus
This center treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your treatment plan addresses each condition at once with personalized, compassionate care for comprehensive healing.
Interim House supports men with substance use and alcohol addiction through long-term residential care in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The program bridges detox, outpatient counseling, and housing, helping men overcome homelessness, recent incarceration, and co-occurring mental health challenges. Staff guide residents as they rebuild their lives through meaningful work and strong community connections. They use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based relapse prevention, alongside medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Residents participate in individual and group counseling, develop relapse prevention strategies, and build life skills that promote lasting recovery and personal growth. The program treats the whole person, not just the addiction. Residents live in an 18-bed licensed recovery home with shared rooms and bathrooms. Staff provide meals in a supportive setting that fosters connection and healing. The home’s location near community resources and public transportation makes it easier for residents to access healthcare, education, and job opportunities as they transition back into society.
