Flagler Open Arms Recovery Services (OARS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. Their mission is to provide education, support, and peer services to those impacted by substance use disorder. OARS offers a range of programs, including peer support services, free Narcan distribution and training, support groups, and a speakers' bureau. Their certified recovery peer support specialists assist individuals in navigating recovery, while their Narcan training is available to community members, businesses, and healthcare professionals. What sets OARS apart is their peer-led approach, with programs envisioned and led by individuals who have personally undergone the journey of recovery. This lived experience enables them to provide authentic and empathetic support to those seeking recovery. Additionally, OARS is committed to eliminating stigma and fostering a supportive community environment for individuals in recovery.
