Focus

This center treats substance use disorders and mental health conditions. You'll receive individualized care catered to your unique situation and diagnosis, learn practical skills for recovery, and make new connections in a restorative environment.

The Brattleboro Retreat is a dual diagnosis treatment center that specializes in treating adolescents and adults struggling with substance abuse, behavioral issues, and co-occurring mental health conditions. They provide an extensive range of programs aimed at promoting sobriety and freedom from debilitating health conditions. The Retreat's services include a wide variety of specialty programs such as an adult and adolescent inpatient program for substance abuse, a children's inpatient program for ages 5-12 who are experiencing a variety of serious and emotional behavioral issues, LQBTQ+ adult inpatient, a uniformed service program for first responders, military, and police and virtual intensive outpatient (IOP) services. Treatment involves a mixture of group and individual therapy, as well as on-site 12-Step meetings. Group topics include alcohol education, relapse prevention, coping skills, and anger management. Prior to being released, clients work out an aftercare plan with their primary counselor. The Brattleboro Retreat campus is located in beautiful southern Vermont, offering easy access throughout New England and beyond. The buildings and grounds look much like that of a college campus with a central green, indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, and close proximity to the restaurants, shops, and cultural hotspots in downtown Brattleboro. The Brattleboro Retreat is inspired by the courage of their patients and is dedicated to children, adolescents, and adults in their pursuit of recovery from mental illness, psychological trauma, and addiction.
