Focus

This center treats substance use disorders and mental health conditions. You'll receive individualized care catered to your unique situation and diagnosis, learn practical skills for recovery, and make new connections in a restorative environment.

Alvarado Parkway Institute offers a full continuum of treatment services for adults with substance use disorder, mental health conditions, or co-occurring conditions, with varying levels of care throughout their locations in California. Their El Cajon facility provides intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults, with individualized treatment tracks available for mental health such as depression or bipolar disorder, alcohol, opioid, or other drug addiction, and for individuals with dual-diagnosis. IOP is ideal for individuals who do not need the structure of a residential or day treatment program, consisting of 3 hours of flexible treatment up to 3 days per week, with morning or afternoon tracks available. Flexible treatment schedules give clients the opportunity to practice learned skills in their lives while still receiving support. Treatment covers topics such as trauma or PTSD, anger management, emotional regulation, anxiety and stress management, coping skills, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. Alvarado Parkway Institute offers evidence-based and individualized care through methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), medication management, relapse prevention and outreach support. Additional services include limited roundtrip transportation assistance, and continental breakfast and lunch provided daily. They are a Joint Commission accredited program, and work with most major insurance providers.
