Jane Westin Center

The Jane Westin Center, situated in downtown San Diego, is an Urgent Psychiatric Walk-In Center catering to adults aged 18 and older experiencing serious mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use conditions. The center offers same-day, one-time services such as behavioral health screenings, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and discharge planning for individuals in urgent need of psychiatric care. Part of the Community Research Foundation, the Jane Westin Center prioritizes accessibility and comprehensive support. Funded by the County of San Diego's Behavioral Health Services, the center welcomes Medi-Cal beneficiaries, dual Medi-Cal/Medicare recipients, Medi-Cal-eligible individuals, and the uninsured, ensuring no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Conveniently situated near multiple bus lines and within walking distance of the City College tram and 5th Avenue light rail stations, the center connects clients with community programs for ongoing psychiatric care, behavioral health support, and social services, helping facilitate a smooth transition to continued care.
