Focus

This center primarily treats substance use disorders, helping you stabilize, create relapse-prevention plans, and connect to compassionate support.

Whatcom Community Detox, operated by Pioneer Human Services, provides 24/7 care in a safe and supportive setting for adults withdrawing from alcohol or drugs. The facility has 16 beds and provides a short-term stay, usually lasting 3 to 7 days. During this time, patients receive help managing withdrawal symptoms and are prepared for the next step in their recovery, such as outpatient or residential treatment. Services include supervised detox, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) like Suboxone, and referrals to long-term recovery programs. The care team includes nurse practitioners, counselors, peer support specialists, and others trained in substance use disorder recovery. Most team members have personal experience with recovery and are available around the clock. Referrals are accepted from family, hospitals, law enforcement, and mental health agencies.
