Focus

This center primarily treats substance use disorders, helping you stabilize, create relapse-prevention plans, and connect to compassionate support.

The Shoulder is a non-profit Christian center in Mobile, Alabama, that helps women recover from drug and alcohol addiction. They offer a high-intensity residential program with 25 hours of therapy a week and a low-intensity residential program that allows and requires women to work during treatment. The high-intensity track includes 24/7 access to a registered nurse and resources designed to focus on recovery full time. The low-intensity track meets outside work hours and includes fun monthly group activities. It operates similarly to a sober or transitional living program. The Shoulder uses evidence-based treatments like individual and group counseling to help women overcome substance use. Both the high-intensity and the low-intensity tracks focus on spiritual growth, 12-step recovery, and individualized care while clients continue working. After this program, women can move into transitional living care for similar, continued support and community reintegration. The center uses a sliding scale for fees. The ability for clients to hold jobs during the program and the sliding fee scale aim to make treatment accessible and help clients adapt to long-term recovery.
