Silver Hill Hospital is an independent, non-profit facility that treats psychiatric and addictive disorders. Nestled on a beautiful hill top in Canaan, Connecticut, Silver Hill offers 3 levels of care including inpatient, transitional living, and intensive outpatient programming (IOP). Their specialized programs cater to men, women, executives, professionals, and adolescents with an average length of stay ranging from 5 to 12 days, but some clients choose to move on to their 42-day transitional living program. Silver Hill understands that everyone is unique. They provide individualized treatment plans and a wide array of therapies that best fit the needs of the client. Clients can enter 3 levels of care, corresponding to the illness stage while being able to move between levels throughout treatment. Silver Hill seamlessly blends traditional talk therapy with a variety of alternative therapies like acupuncture, acupressure, massage, mat pilates, Tai Chi, yoga, and more. Silver Hills extensive property consists of 5 home-like facilities for adults, adolescents, addiction and co-occurring disorders, a personality disorder center, and a psychotic disorder center. Each home is tucked away in the peaceful countryside and is beautifully furnished with modern decor and cozy living spaces. While personal cell phones and computers are not permitted, clients will have access to iPads and computers during treatment as well as a library. Clients at Silver Hill will enjoy a home-away-from-home feel, instead of the typical sterile hospital-like setting.
