Focus

This center treats mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use. You receive collaborative, individualized treatment that addresses both issues for whole-person healing.

Crestwood’s Freise HOPE House in Bakersfield is a short-term, voluntary mental health Crisis Residential Treatment Program for adults aged 18–59 experiencing psychiatric crises. It offers a safe, homelike setting with 24/7 support, helping guests stabilize and prepare for community reintegration. The Freise HOPE House uses a peer-led model—staff with lived experience guide recovery using empathy and shared understanding. The program uses dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help guests manage emotions and reduce harmful behaviors. Each guest creates a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to build personal coping strategies. Additional support includes trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and vocational training through the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network. This holistic approach empowers guests to take charge of their recovery and build confidence for life beyond treatment. The facility accommodates up to 14 guests, offering 9 private and 3 shared rooms. Amenities include a cozy living room, internet café, organic garden, gym, and outdoor spaces like a basketball court and patio. Guests enjoy healthy meals, snacks, and calming teas throughout the day. The welcoming environment supports healing and personal growth during their stay.
