Focus

This center treats mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use. You receive collaborative, individualized treatment that addresses both issues for whole-person healing.

Crestwood’s Fairfield Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offers up to 23 hours of care—no appointment needed—for children, teens, and adults in mental health crisis. They help people facing depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring substance use. With active intervention and close monitoring, the CSU provides a safe space for rapid stabilization and connects clients to longer-term care when needed. Their approach blends counseling, medication support, and creative therapies like art, yoga, and relaxation training. Clients receive dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills training, WRAP planning, peer and parent partner support, and spiritual or cultural services. These therapies help people calm down, feel supported, and plan for the next steps in recovery. Staff also provide discharge planning and community referrals for lasting care. Clients receive meals, medical screenings, and access to low-stimulation activities like TV, newspapers, and quiet reflection. The space is calm and welcoming, with staff available for wellness counseling and safety monitoring. Every part of the environment is designed to support short-term recovery and help each person regain a sense of stability and control.
