Focus
At this center, you receive personalized care for mental health conditions. They provide therapy and tailor treatment to your unique needs, diagnoses, and preferences.
The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) Berks Campus offers mental and behavioral health services for children and teens ages 5 to 18. Located near the scenic Reading Pagoda and accessible by public transportation, it serves youth with anxiety, depression, mood issues, self-harm, and school or family difficulties. Services range from outpatient therapy to intensive day treatment. They follow a trauma-informed approach, creating personalized treatment plans for each child. Therapies include individual and group counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and medication management. These methods help youth manage emotions, improve coping skills, and build stronger relationships while continuing to live at home and attend school. The acute partial hospitalization program (APHP) provides six hours of structured care each weekday, helping youth avoid or step down from inpatient stays. CHOR Day Academy supports students with IEPs through tailored academics and therapy. Strong school partnerships and flexible levels of care make transitions smoother for students and families.
