Focus
This center treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your treatment plan addresses each condition at once with personalized, compassionate care for comprehensive healing.
Founded in 1980, Amethyst House has provided addiction services in Bloomington and Evansville, Indiana, utilizing evidence based and client oriented practices. Following a twelve-step process, residents are required to attend AA or NA meetings, attend the outpatient program after residential treatment, and obtain a job. Attendants are expected to be at least five days sober before coming into the residential program, unless they have transferred directly from a hospital or detox center. Preferential admission is offered to pregnant women and IV drug users, and dependents may be able to live at the facility if availability allows. The residential homes are gender-specific. Clients have shared bedrooms, access to laundry and exercise facilities, and a full kitchen where meals are prepared. Upon completion of the residential program, patients are required to attend outpatient services provided by Amethyst House. An assessment is administered to determine the correct level of care for each individual client, and then groups of 8-10 participants are created. Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual counseling, and family counseling are some of the tools used. During outpatient, assessment and treatment of co-occurring disorders are delivered by the licensed clinical staff. Amethyst House is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and The Division of Mental Health and Addictions. Indiana Medicaid and Medicaid managed care organization’s are accepted for residential services, and many more insurance plans are accepted for outpatient services such as United Healthcare, Aetna, Anthem, and Healthsmart. .
