Focus

This center treats mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use. You receive collaborative, individualized treatment that addresses both issues for whole-person healing.

This outpatient facility is part of a large network of psychiatric care services throughout the state of Minnesota. The location in Maplewood specializes in providing partial hospitalization programs (PHP) for children and adolescents with mental health disorders. Each client that comes to PrairieCare receives a diagnostic assessment to ensure they are being treated adequately. Each client can access psychiatric care, individual therapy and family therapy while in treatment. The PHP for children happens during school hours from 8:45am-3:45pm, Monday through Friday. Children can learn skills like collaborative problem solving, self-regulation and symptom management. They can also access experiential therapy and gender-affirming care if either of those fit their needs. The length of the program varies from 3-5 weeks, depending on the progress of the client. The outpatient services available at Maplewood include private therapy and medication management. Children and families can receive therapeutic services ranging from individual therapy sessions to group or family sessions. An integrative health approach can be accessed by providers at this location, where clients participate in yoga, meditation, biofeedback and mind-body awareness skills.
